Home Away From Home

While some construction is being done in our home, we are fortunate to live in a friend's home in the city. It has been nice to eat at different restaurants and walk/run in familiar (the U of M campus) places. Most delightful this evening was my discovery of a Little Free Library (www.littlefreelibrary.org) just around the corner. If you have not seen one of these yet, I hope you will find one soon. I would love to have one in my yard - to share books, to see what others bring, and to secretly watch others open the library door and take a treasure.

    1. It is like a holiday, Brattcat. We walked to campus for dinner tonight and observed so many interesting things along the way :)

  2. Wow--that looks like such a welcoming home! I've read about those libraries but never seen one in person. Lucky you!

  3. Would it work in your neighborhood, Joanne? After I showed my family tonight, we all agreed it might be a good neighborhood addition. And why not in a librarian's yard?

  5. It's at the intersection of Orlin and Malcolm Avenues in MInneapolis at the Prospect Park United Methodist Church (22 Orlin Avenue SE). Each day that I've walked past it, there are different books :)

  6. I hadn't heard about Little Free Libraries before but I looked them up on the link you included. What a great idea! And yes, your family would be perfect hosts for one!
